Dr. Harel Arnon was admitted to the Israel Bar Association in 2001 after receiving his LL.B. and M.A. (Phil.) (magna cum laude) from Bar-Ilan University. He clerked for Chief Justice Aharon Barak of the Supreme Court of Israel (2000-2001 Term).
Dr. Arnon completed his doctoral studies at Harvard Law School where he was a Fulbright Scholar. His book, A Theory of Direct Legislation, dealing with Initiatives and Referendums in the United States, was published in 2008. His second book, Land Law and International Law in Judea and Samaria (ed. with Dr. Chagai Vinitzky), was published in Israel in 2013. His third book, Commercial Law in Judea and Samaria (ed. with Dr. Chagai Vinitzky), was published in Israel in 2021.
Early on in his career, Dr. Arnon practiced corporate law for a number of years at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP in New York City and litigation at Israel’s top boutique firms. Dr. Arnon has litigated complex commercial disputes and administrative proceedings for some of Israel’s largest corporations as well as the country’s most established business people and politicians. In 2016, Dr. Arnon was hired by the Israeli government to represent it in the Supreme Court and was the first-ever private attorney to be hired for such role. Dr. Arnon is one of Israel’s most frequent litigators in the Supreme Court and has appeared in almost all tribunals in Israel.
Dr. Arnon is a member of the Israel Bar Association and the New York Bar.
